Fred Olsen Cruise Lines

Often shortened to just FOCL; Fred Olsen Cruise Lines is a UK based operation with her headquarters based in Ipswich, the county town of Suffolk. Though not to everyone's ideals, Fred Olsen cruises are almost year round from various ports from around the United Kingdom including Greenock; Harwich; Newcastle; Portsmouth and Southampton.

They offer a tradition style of cruising; with older ships this may not be to everyone's liking however Fred Olsen do have a fair number of repeat cruisers; so they must be doing something right.

Fred Olsen Ships

There are currently four older ships in the fleet belonging to the Fred Olsen Cruise Lines; they are Balmoral; Black Watch; Boudicca & Braemar. Black Watch was built in 1972 and is the oldest while Braemar built in 1993 is the youngest. The size of the ships vary from Braemar at 24,344 tonnes to Balmoral at 43537 tonnes.

Fred Olsen Cruises 2012 & 2013

Fred Olsen offer a couple of longer cruises each year which is no mean feet for a small cruise line; longer Fred Olsen Cruises in 2012 include a 105 night world cruise on Black Watch and a cruise around South America on Balmoral that will take 89 nights to complete.

There are numerous other Fred Olsen cruises in 2012 raging from a few nights to a few weeks.
