P and O Cruises

Having offered their first cruise holidays programme in 1904, P and O Cruises is the biggest of the UK based cruise lines. They are run from Southampton under the Complete Cruise Solution banner along with Cunard Cruises and Princess Cruises. Complete Cruise Solution is itself owned and run by the Carnival Corporation the American company responsible for the largest collection of cruise ships and cruises in the world. P and O Cruises is no longer associated with the ferry company formally known as P&O Stena Line.

P&O Cruising Style

The style of the P and O Cruises is traditional as opposed to the more relaxed American style which is prevalent throughout the world of cruises. Most people associate P and O Cruises with being an upmarket cruise line, however according to the Berlitz guide they are a four star cruise, which is the most common among cruise lines. One thing that is apparent is that many people who cruise with P and OCruises return as future cruise holidays customers.

P&O Ships

Currently P and O Cruises have seven ships; this rose from five in the spring of 2008 when Ventura a new 116,000 ton ship joined the fleet and Azura in 2009. The other P&O Cruises ships are Adonia (replaced Artemis in 2011); Arcadia; (both Child Free); Aurora; Azura; Oceana and Oriana.
